It's our 1 year Anniversary!

This past year has flown! We can't believe it's been a year since we opened our doors/pop-up that rainy Friday.  For those who don't know our story, our store started as a pop-up for two reasons.  First, our owner was recovering from a life-threatening combo of Long COVID & Long Lyme, Hat Bar BLCG became the best therapy she could have ever imagined.  Second, we wanted to see if our mission was to better connect people with what they wear so that they discard less, and with our owner's long history in apparel and accessories, our love of hats runs deep. 

So many of us hold onto our long-loved hats for years, if not decades.  They become a piece of one's time capsule and something that gets passed down from generation to generation.  The stories we've heard about the hats that we've helped restore!  It's such a gift to hear the stories of family and friendship that surpasses decades.

Our love of expression and off-the-cuff humor is seen in our curation of patches and pins, and our love of natural fibers and rich textures is reflected in our wide-brim assortment. We love helping other small businesses create brand identities and help them with custom layered logos and goods.  Our favorite part of this journey is the joy and connection it's brought us with our clients and our community. 

Thank you for being such a wonderful part of our story, we are humbled by your support. We were able to extend into an actual storefront in November 2024, hanging our sign on the fence was a moment that was a bit surreal.  We were able to expand our Charm Bar that we had been toting around to our pop up events since summer! We expanded our branding services, and have been branding hats and other natural fibered items.  It's so cool to watch people express themselves and allow themself to be creative.

We set out last year to start with snap backs and caps, and to gradually bring in wide brim summer hats, and later to expand into straws and wools.  This year we have a whole new set of goals, which we hope will enrich what we're able to deliver to our beloved community and beyond.

We have so many exciting things in the works for 2025! A new website was at the top of our list, and here we are.  It's a work in progress, but it's a better reflection of who and what we are, and a portal of how we can share the fun with your friends and family.

You might have noticed, we are expanding into more accessories and some accent apparel that complement our hat assortment. As we grow, we are committed to the "EXPERIENCE" that is Hat Bar BLCG. We look to find new ways to excite and connect, how to be stewards of our community, and how to help make 'shopping small' and 'Main Street USA' thrive in our small town of Martinez and beyond. 

For those of you who shop outside of Martinez, Thank You for shopping small and helping us give back to our community.  We are humbled and excited by this last year and for what will come.
